Gedeon Burkhard (Tim): Looking back at a 35 year career as a working actor, portraying Tim was the most effortless performance of my life. I really can‘t remember feeling any of my ususal “actors angst“, I guess I just didn‘t have time to. But spending endless hours contemplating the character while writing was hopefully ample preparation. Also, it probably fits, because in this short timeperiod, Tims life is turned upside down and all he can really do is react and somehow try to deal with what life is handing out.

Miriam Schroetter (Selina): Playing the character of Selina was filled with all kinds of emotions. The things she went through are hard to relate to anything "normal", but that's what made the part such fun. Crashing cars, getting covered in blood on a daily basis, screaming non stop and being constantly terrified made this role both demanding and exhilarating. Acting alongside such talented and experienced people was also a great learning experience!

Carrie Getman (Alexa): Carrie comes to Berlin from New York City where she worked with several NYC based theatre companies, and made appearances in film, television, and commercial productions. Since moving to Europe she has performed in Berlin, Munich, Düsseldorf, Tübingen, and Vienna. She was thrilled to be a part of “The Key,” and was honored to work with such talented people. Usually cast as the innocent nice girl, it was a wonderful challenge playing the obnoxious yet lovable Alexa.

Shon Abram (Josh): Shon Abram is an international quadruple threat (singer/songwriter/ dancer/actor). An entertainer from Hollywood CA, he has performed in Japan, Russia, South Africa, Namibia and Mexico, just to name a few. Shon was a Lost Boy in Steven Spielberg's "Hook" and has now completed his first lead role in ”The Key”.

Sven Martinek (Erebus): Having started to act when I was a child, I am now looking back at a 40 year carreer as a working actor. And I can truthfully say playing “Erebus“ was really great fun. A man in a world between life and death, a father who transforms himself to defend and protect his family and his beliefs, what more can you want. Also, it was such a pleasure to work for and with my friend Gedeon Burkhard (director/actor) all at the same time.

Kai Holzapfel (Hector): “It was great fun playing this aggressive little bastard with his big gun, stumbling from bad to worse, while trying not to fuck up his mission“. Asked about his time on set, “The first thing that comes to mind is being eaten up by mosquitos in the dark prussian woods!“. Which seems apt, as one of “Hectors“ many one liners is, “Man, ...I hate fucking nature“. “But seriously, I had a kick ass time with a great crew!“

Taryn Nelson (Lisa): Playing the role of Lisa was a wonderful experience, because it meant I really had to step out of my comfort zone. She is, at least, borderline schyzophrenic and a machavelian maniputalor who will do whatever it takes to get what she wants. That meant a few searching expeditions into the darker corners of my mind where I usually don‘t venture. The sexual tension and utter commitment to my love interest “Joey“ on the other hand came incredably easy, which might have had something to do with the actor playing him.

Sasha Di Capri (Joey): His mouthwatering good looks usually have him portraying the “Loverboy“, or something in that vicinity. So he was especially happy to sink his teeth into the part of a psycopathic killer on the loose. And being paired up with his now wife Taryn Nelson in a Bonny & Clyde-esque tag team appears to have rounded out the experience. Sasha is also a incredible singer/songwriter and contributed two killer rock songs to the movie (“Gonna Get Ya“ & “Show Me“).

Michael Deffert (George): Completely demanding the floor in the gruesome 11 minute set up scene, Michael Deffert carves out a villain of the highest honor. The hook of revenge deeply implanted in our flesh, Michael Defferts “Gorge“ leaves us exactly where he should.

Sharon Brauner (Helena): Coming from a family deeply rooted within the filmbusiness she played her first lead role when she was eleven. And her body of work, an incredible array of colorfull characters, reflects her tremendous talent. Which by the way is seriously challenged by her musical blessings. She is an extremly versatile singer and songwriter with three albums under her belt.

Ronald Nitschke (George old): Picking up where Michael Deffert left off, Ronald Nitschkes “Gorge“ instantly commands the scene. Doing so in a brutal manner that, frankly put, scared the shit out of me.

Horst G. Marx (Max): “Max“ is a old shool gangster with a mean sense of humor. Horst G. Marx‘s interpretation of this classic role is a dead on, totally out there, swooping punch below the beltline.

Gioia Iannacone (Morena): Interesting challenge, having to ask a ten year old about her experiences on a horror film set. Especially when the director, who is also her father, has her hacked to pieces with a machete. But thank god for the disarming charm of ten year old sunshines, “Best halloween ever!“, instantly explained her perspective. And witnessing her portrayal of Morena, I would say there is no denying her family genes.
